Jennifer “Jenni” Helland is a founding and managing partner at KHM Attorneys at Law. Jenni focuses her attention on complex dissolution of marriage cases involving high assets, executive compensation, complex child custody disputes, and military divorces. Having represented high profile client’s, Jenni’s client list includes influencers, professional athletes, tech company founders and executives, medical professionals and entrepreneurs.

Having represented hundreds of clients with a wide range of issues Jenni has become well trained in specialized family law issues such as Business Valuation, Executive Compensation, Domestic Violence, and Military Divorce. She is a vigorous advocate for her clients’ interests, staying highly involved with every aspect of their case. Jenni prides herself in knowing how to move a family matter forward, whether by reaching an agreement or litigating the matter and helping her clients through private and sensitive family matters. With over 14 years of experience exclusively in family law, and another two years prior as a Deputy District Attorney in El Paso County, Jenni has extensive litigation experience making her stand out amongst her peers. She is a highly skilled negotiator and litigator who reaches favorable and creative results for her clients both in and out of the courtroom.

Jenni is a graduate of The University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minnesota.

Jenni is a current member of the CBA Family Law Executive Committee, a fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), CBA Family Law Section judicial liaison to several judicial districts throughout Colorado, member of the 4thJudicial Best Practices Committee, member of the Ben S. Wendelken American Inn of Court, and a member of the the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). She is the former chair of the El Paso County Bar Association’s Family Law Section, past member of the CBA Board of Governors, current ABA, CBA and EPCBA member, founding board member of Liberty Tree Academy, a charter school in District 49, and a Level 4 youth hockey coach. Her firm has been acknowledged several times for their work pro bono work, earning the Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year award in 2019 from The Justice Center. Jenni was also invited to participate in the 2025 Bench Bar Summit.

Jenni has written numerous articles that have been published locally on different family law and military law matters. She has taught other attorneys and pro se litigants at numerous conferences and CLEs in the areas of military retirement, third party visitation, income, special needs children, relocation, ethics, and trauma and is our in-house trainer. She is also a trained Mediator/Arbiter, Parenting Time Coordinator/Decision Maker, Guardian ad Litem for Adults, and Child’s Legal Representative.
